The 1900s

This very newly formed Chicago band (they don’t even have an ep out but one will soon be released on Parasol. Let the breath holding begin now!) had the lushest and fullest of melodies. It’s a large band of seven people with nice violin and keyboards adding to the guitars and bass. The vocals alternated between a male lead singer with female backup and the two female singers. The harmonies were just perfect. They were also just really really fun to watch with their coordinated dance movements and go go boots. I was pretty mesmerized by it all.

The 1900s are playing a show soon at the Empty Bottle on February 2cnd. Although they are only releasing an ep, it seemed like they easily had enough songs to fill an entire album up so their set should be of a decent length.
