Empty Bottle in Chicago
Damon and Naomi (post Galaxie 500) played a soft melancholy over an hour length set Sunday. Most of the songs were from their newest album release, Within These Walls, which I haven’t yet heard unfortunately. It was great that they had Helena Espvall of Espers playing cello and Michio Kurihara filling in some long drawling guitar melodies to interact lovingly with Damon’s acoustic guitar strumming. Due to the fact that they were opening for the rather noisy band Boris, they decidedly played as soft as they possibly could. Though I wish they had played a more diverse set of songs, I really enjoyed hearing their lullish melodies and both of their lovely voices.

Lovely pictures – I’m so looking forward to them making over to London next month – I think they’re supporting a different noisy band over here!

Great pictures (as usual :-))! Damon & Naomi sounded astoundingly beautiful…I too wish they had played more songs, and those who went to see Boris had shown more respect to D&N (the crowd was noisy!!). Honestly, I don’t get the idea of putting these two bands in one show…

Galaxy 500’s Listen the Snow is Falling is one of my favorite covers :).
