José González

Intonation Music Festival Day One
Chicago
José González is amazing and if you don’t think he is, then you really aren’t listening. He’s somewhere between the soft darkness of Nick Drake and the pastoral intricasies of Kings of Convenience I can’t recall a song he didn’t play from his amazing album Veneer. In addtion, he played two seemingly unlikely covers in his own acoustic finger plucking style: Kylie Minogue’s Hand on Your Heart and Massive Attack’s Teardrop
