Fifteen Minutes of Fame

While at the Hideout Block Party, a person from Metromix approached Cinchel and I and asked if she could take our picture for their publication (you have to ask people if you want to take their picture now?? Um…yeah I did know that.) I should have warned her that I’m so pale I look like death warmed over in just about any picture I’m in but I don’t like to talk while bands are playing. Anyhow, I had forgotten all about this whole thing and then today at work someone told Cinchel they had seen his picture so he came home and found it. He looks better than I do as usual.
Note: I did have the original link up but then realized that they change the picture on that same link so you’ll just have to believe me that the one at the top is the one that they had up when I originally posted this.
I know it’s not as caption friendly but if I could have picked a caption, I may have said, “Local Chicagoans admire the guitarist of the Sam Roberts Band’s T-Rex Electric Warrior shirt at the Hideout Block Party.” Er maybe that’s a little long but if you want to get technical.
Are my fifteen minutes of fame up because I still wanted to someday have a cameo in an Audrey Tatou film. Does this count for both of us? It does????? Can we haggle?
Oh and you know, I just remembered the time when these guys from the Keren Ann street team took my picture in Wicker Park after giving me a poster of hers and I told them I was going to see her both nights at Schubas. They said they were going to post it to their street team website but I never asked what the addy was. Somewhere there is another picture of me next to a wall of Keren Ann posters in Wicker Park and I want to know how awful I look. (It’s only fair!) Anyways, that probably means my fifteen minutes are definitely up for sure. Oh well, at least I haven’t been caught on film being eaten by a rabid giraffe….yet.
(Now playing: Rob Dickinson (you know, the lead singer of Catherine Wheel): Fresh Wine for the Horses. This is okay. Maybe it will grow on me. I’m a really big Catherine Wheel fan. It’s gonna take some time to get over the lyrics of the first song where he repetitively sings “My name is love.”)

That’s a nice photo. I have never heard of this name Cinchel before. Is it Swedish?
T-rex has become quite popular lately it’s pretty interesting, pretty cool too.
I was at my friends house last weekly and she has some sort of cable tv on demand thing and they have a lot of free movies and stuff, and it had a t-rex movie, but I couldn’t even get through the first song before my friend was bored to tears. That always happens, we like a lot oif the same junk, like Elliott smith we both love dearly. But then she likes radio head who I cant stand (omg I hate them so much, I hate them as much as bush)and I like shows like nova, bill moyers and she wants to watch sex in the city and Gilmore girls.
We both agree desperate house wives is horrible and over-rated. And we both are very much over jude law and welcoming the new est and brightest star of Hollywood men as the mark ruthalo. Well
Anyway I guess I am saying if you both like t-rex t-shirts that is pretty nice.
And lucky
but
Don’t worry you have more than 15 minuttes

That is a nice photo indeed; with the way you’re lit in there you look kind of goth.
Been meaning to check out T. Rex; Do you know a good ‘best of” comp I can start with?

lol I can’t stand either sex in the city (those women are so shallow!) or the Gilmore Girls (mainly for the acting) but I do like Radiohead-sorry. I’ve liked them since the Bends.
lol on Jude Law. I always saw him as mainly a pretty boy but there have been some great films that he has been in. Just not my type, really.
Cinchel is from a fairy tale I wrote. His real name is Jason. It’s a long story. Thanks for your comments.

Chris-I would recommend Marc Bolan and T Rex: 20th Century Boy (The Ultimate Collection) on Universal Music and thanks. I’m really not goth but I think I was half in the shadows and also…I’m pale. ah well.
