Airiel are shoegazers extraordinaire. They fill the room with blissful atmospheric dreampop in a way that permeates the air so completely. I missed Airiel when they played with the Dears awhile back so this was the first time I had seen them. They played about an hour long set with visual footage lighting up the walls, stage, and their faces. Mostly, the visuals were fireworks, which is actually one of my favorite things in life and worked well with the tone of the music. If you want to pick up something to listen to by Airiel, I would recommend the Winks and Kisses ep box set.

my name is cory and i play bass for the band airiel…i’d like to begin by complimenting you on your blog- i love how you have it laid-out! i think that it’s great that you enjoyed that last double door show…i just wanted to say thanks for posting such a nice entry about us…it really is an honor to be listed on your site…i hope you come to see us again soon (the 13th at subterranean, mmmm?) and if you see me, please say “hello…”-i’d love to buy you a drink…
