A Northern Chorus

The Subterranean in Chicago
4/9/07
As I sometimes find myself getting bogged down with too many reviews to write and photos to edit, sometimes Cinchel splits the reviewing part with me and did so again for the lush and beautiful (I mean, cello and violin…can anyone really go wrong with that?) A Northern Chorus which he blogged about on Radio Free Chicago here. I had seen them once before at The Beat Kitchen what seems like forever ago when they toured for Bitter Hands Resign and I was glad there was more of an audience for them this time. Touring to support their newest album, The Millions Too Many, A Northern Chorus was a great opener for The Twilight Sad (see review below) with enough pedal effects to match theirs. Though, overall The Twilight Sad had a much more desperate and somewhat caustic sound, the elements of femininity in A Northern Chorus made their presence to me seem fuller….plus, they’re from Canada.
