Au Revoir Simone

Empty Bottle in Chicago
Au Revoir Simone aren’t French (and you won’t want to hear them say goodbye either) but are instead from Brooklyn. The three girls are playing twee pop keyboards to their heart’s delight. They are also rather beautiful and it’s no big mystery why Peter, Bjorn, and John would want them on their tour. Opening up for their first set of the night, they played and sang their girly melodies well. It was also nice to see a bit of variety from all of the standard bass, guitar, and drums rock band in the typically male dominated genre of indie rock bands. And though they don’t really seem to be set on radically changing the world at this time in their lives, they might help make it a nicer one to live in. As mentioned in the PB&J post above, Heather D’Angelo also did a great job covering for Victoria Bergsman during “Young Folks” in both Peter, Bjorn, and John sets of the night.
