My Throat Hurts
It started Tuesday and it’s gotten progressively worse. I went to the dr and sat in a waiting room for at least an hour and a half. I couldn’t appreciate the fact that four different languages were being spoken because above it all was Bob Barker’s voice telling people to come on down to the deepest pits of gameshow hell. I’m trying to decide whether to take antibiotics-they won’t know if it is a viral or bacterial thing until the culture test results come back mon. I took the extra strength ibuprofen and it made my headache worse.
The worst is the yawning and the swallowing. If I stay perfectly still and listen to nothing but happy peaceful songs like Mice Parade and Mum and the Cush, I feel almost human. I don’t remember having any encounters with zombies but you know that part in Shaun of the Dead when the stepfather is like near death and insisting he’s just fine and not to bother with the doctor in the living room? That is so me.
Yeah, I have a point. Don’t expect anything sensible or anything period from this blog for a couple of more days. I’m going to go back to bed now.

hope you feel better soon. try making an Infusion or tea with some fresh ginger and lemon in a pot of boiling water . You only need a little ginger it works nicely. It wont make you healthy per say, but it does work wonders for the throat. btw i saw those berries you like for the first time at the market today and thought of you. i didnt pick them up because they were in a jar not fresh, but i do want to try them sometime. ok get well soon.

Thanks for the suggestion. I drank liters upon liters of tea and this stuff called Emergen-C. Which berries did you find? Lingonberries or cloudberries? I have never seen cloudberries fresh even at the Swedish markets.

Lingonberries. i was amazed when i saw them, because it is in a more or less a nice but pretty normal store, not too much fancy stuff. did you put fresh ginger in the tea? thats the stuff! im glad you are feeling better. being sick is terrible.

I didn’t have any fresh ginger unfortunately but I agree that is nice. I have made it like that before. I am feeling much better now. I went to work a full day and did my usual work out at the gym. Today is my last day on antibiotics.
Did you try the lingonberries?
