Beat Kitchen in Chicago 2/24/6

First and foremost, let me thank Matt who is music fanatic extraordinaire and clued me into this band’s existence when he blogged about seeing them here

Voxtrot , is a five piece hailing from Austin, Texas play songs with true heart. Although they have been compared to everything from Belle and Sebastian to Love to the Lucksmiths to the Smiths, they certainly have a bit of what makes them indivduals in there too and show great promise with their ep Raised by Wolves (their ep Mothers Sisters Daughters & Wives will come out later this spring).

Live, they were endearing and charming and played songs that came off just as nicely live as they do on album. I was sad to see it end (and it ended a bit too early for my taste as well because the club had unfortunately booked a late show that we had to clear out for) If you have a chance to go see them, don’t hesititate to go.
