The Minus Story

The Minus Story are six guys from Kansas who put together some pretty solid emotional indie rock. I kind of think of it like Okkervil River crossed with Animal Collective. It’s guitar driven and at times has such imagery that you can’t help picture what he’s singing about. There’s also a little bit of almost organic weirdness apparent in the music itself. I only have a couple Minus Story albums but my favorite of what I have heard is No Rest For Ghosts. Jordan Geiger’s vocals definitely take a little bit to get used to as he often sings like his heart is in his throat. The set was a decent 45 minutes in length consisting mainly of songs off of No Rest For Ghosts including: “Little Wet Head,” “I Was Hit,” “Ringing in the Dark,” “Hold On,” “Waking Up,” and “Will I Be Fighting.”
