Guillemots

The Guillemots have an ep out called Trains to Brazil that I never would have heard about had it not been for this blog: Soundbites
The Guillemots are a four piece from the UK who play keyboards, stand up bass, drums, and guitar. They sometimes have a very sing songy sound but at other times have a bit of an emotional touch to them with Fyfe Dangerfield showing undeniably impressive vocal range both on their ep and live. Although, I get into the songs more in the comfort of my own living room I find for one reason or another. What was also difficult about this show is just that I was in a real dancy Spinto band-ish mood and although the Guillemots songs pick up quite a bit, they all started out a bit soft and moody. You have to sort of let them subtly work their way into your system.
