More Music Dreams
Last night, I had a dream that I was in Toronto in a Shopper’s Drug Mart looking at Canadian chocolate (I miss Coffee Crisp the most) and they were playing Françoise Hardy and then Serge Gainsbourg and I was dancing around in the aisle. I felt like the lights and the floor tiles and the products were all dancing with me in the way flourescence illuminates and surrounds.
Two nights ago, I had a dream in which Andrew Bird was gardening in the moonlight. There was a house and some spirits but he seemed oblivious. It was a small brown patch of land and he was weaving a hoe in and out between seedlings. He was tall and didn’t cast a shadow. I heard him whistling under his breath.
About a week ago, I had a dream about Michaele Jean. She was singing to me and her voice was just amazing. I’ve never even heard her speak but was reading about Canadian politics right before bed. I know it sounds strange but I’d probably pay to hear her sing in concert now even if in reality she’s off key. I can just hear her singing to the multitudes…that voice like an ocean.
(now playing: Andrew Bird bittorrent from 2004)
