Canasta

Canasta are local favorites and have a residency for each monday of this April. They played mainly songs off of their new album, We Were Set Up and ended with a well received cover of Peter Schilling’s Major Tom (Coming Home). This song is covered in a way that almost makes you take the song more seriously instead of the 80s one hit wonder I always used to consider it. With violin and piano bits intermixed with horns, Canasta can be boisterous when not reflective. You can go here to their myspace page to hear their songs.
