Faces on Film

4/4/6 Schubas in Chicago
Man oh man was I impressed with this band (and I see a ton of bands!) The emotional intensity of the lead singer, Mike Fiore’s, vocals contrasted with some nice rifts with guitar and bass were enough to make me want to rock out I would say live Fiore’s vocals came close to the vocals of The Walkmen although on album they have more of a Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse tinged thing going for them (especially some of those songs off of The Moon & Antartica) So if you like that almost harsher vocal style, I’d say Seven Sisters is the album for you. Faces on Film were also very modest even though it was impossible not to listen intently as their edginess was at times rather awe inspiring. I am really hoping they release a new album soon because this four piece out of Boston could really go places.
They have mp3s available on their website here. You can also listen to songs off of their Myspace page

(Mike Fiore sings into his guitar at what point during the set to create a rather interesting auditory effect)
