The Cloisters

cloisters entrance.jpg

The Cloisters are sort of this mecca for European religious art. From statues to large tapestries to ornate stained glass windows, The Cloisters showcase, among other things, Jesus, the saints, and the story of the unicorn being placed into captivity and persecuted (no, really. I’m not making this up.) Now, in some areas the light is so low that taking pictures without flash (flash pictures are not allowed) are not possible.

I wanted to also say that the Cloisters (and Fort Tyron Park surrounding the museum) are like refuges for NYers completely overwhelmed from maximum stimulation.
