Nyc Anonymous

When most people go on vacation, they want to see the landmark touristy places. When I go on vacation, I look for records, go to shows and see art. Best of all I look at the people. Being a tourist has its advantages. It means that you can get the best pictures of people imaginable and it just seems like you’re taking pictures of a building. I have mixed feelings about this, actually, because I don’t want to make any good resident of NYC feel less anonymous but hey it’s not like tons of people read this blog. If you see yourself, feel free to send me a message. Anyhow, most of the people here have their faces covered but it is still very much the essence of them even in the way their foot lifts up or you see the glimpse of a hand’s palm. Why is our face our most identifying factor anyways?

I’m a firm believer in the idea that a city is a collection of people sometimes there by choice and others thrown into the chaos. NYC is no different. Here’s some NYC anonymous for you. I’ll probably never see them again (I’d say that even if I was a resident of NYC) but they have a very special place in my heart. Don’t think I won’t remember them every day.

I have no idea what these women were doing but they seemed to be rummaging through bags near a park around Avenue A I think.

I really hope Whole Foods doesn’t cut into the business of the fine fruit sellers on the street corners of NY. You have no idea how much nicer is to be able to eat fresh mango than to have to smell vienna beef sausage, trust me.
