Three Psychotic Dreams

(a couple of days ago)

1. I had a dream two first cousins of mine were getting married to eachother. My mother was in the bathtub with my cat Spooky who was back floating. I left the house I was in and walked down my moonlit street of Magnolia. It was warm but the tree by my apartment building was bare as if to indicate winter. In the center of an outstretched branch near was a very large eye that followed me as I walked up the steps. It was flat in the back but three dimmensional in front-the eyeball portion. I could not stop watching the eye follow and watch me. A man came up from behind. I cannot remember his face. He had my cell phone. He was very dark, like a hood. He handed me the cell phone and said, “Here, call someone because, after I am through with you, you’ll never be talking to anyone else again.” I woke myself up.

(two last night)

first:
1. Australia had made a decision that the US was too dangerous to continue. They had found a way to use Mercury as a weapon that dissolves and disintegrates cells. They were putting it in our water supply and releasing it into the air. The news reports were saying that urban areas would be more affected. Half the people around us were panicking and the other half acted as if it were just an ordinary day. The movie theaters were full and there were old friends of mine (from NY) calmly chatting in the el station. Cinchel and I tried to escape and get out to Evanston. We abondoned our car in favor of a train and watched as the chaos of the train mingled with the unawareness. I don’t know if we got out alive.

after falling back asleep:
2. I was asked by a Chemistry professor to explain the difference between mitosis and meiosis from the back of a lecture hall (I know this has more to do with Biology but I also know that eyes don’t grow on trees…don’t expect my dreams to make sense.) I had the textbook chapter bookmarked and my plan, although I had not read it, was just to say what I knew and read exerpts from the chapter. But, when I got up there, I couldn’t remember anything and when I opened the book, I saw that although the chapter began with a short analogy for meiosis, it was mainly filled with long full page advertisements and subversiveness on the part of the author talking about how one should only donate to americans. I didn’t have anything to say so I started to panic and finally stepped down. My students were laughing at me.
